DJ Hero Price Polemic – What Are the High Prices For?
In the fall of 2009 a new game is going to see the day. The game is called Dj Hero and it is a ground breaking new concept in the video game universe. The game is published by Activision that is the responsible for the mega hit series guitar hero that has sold up today more than 33 million copies.
This time instead of playing a guitar the player is going to simulate a disk jockey. Using a new unique controller that resembles a turntable and imitate a professional dj mixing material, the user is going to mix and scratch a series of mash up songs. 80 different mash ups were carefully selected for the game and there will be even some new, never edited before, recreation from the special collaboration of Jay-Z and Eminem.
The game is highly awaited in the gaming community since it is the first rhythm game that will feature a more widely popular kind of music than before. If in the past playing with guitar hero, the rock and metal genres were represented, this time a more dance, hip-hop, rap and electronic type of music would be featured.
Sadly it seems that everyone is going to be profiting from that but the end users. In the US the game was first announced at $120 that is ten more dollars than the guitar hero game. After the initial shock that struck the gaming community the price was revealed on the other side of the Atlantic. It seems that in the UK it is going to be sold for the equivalent of $180. While in Australia it is going to be sold for $140.
It seems that everyone is shocked over these exaggerated prices, but the question is weather the game will be good enough for this price or that the sellers are just profiting for the huge anticipation of the dj hero game. I guess only time will tell.
