Dvd Wii

How to hook up a Wii or VCR/DVD to my computer monitor? Please help?
I want to basically use my computer monitor as my TV, because my TV is old and huge. I am not sue how to go about hooking up my Wii or VCR/DVD player up to it or what cable’s or connectors I might have to get. If anyone knows, please please tell me. : ) Thanks!
I did this for a few years myself with a 20″ computer monitor (but now I have a big screen digital TV with all the inputs I want).
You’ll need what is called a video scaler or up-converter.
The model AVT-3310 on the page linked to in the “sources” section below will do nicely. You’ll have to separately adapt some amplified speakers for the audio with that model (you’ll need to adapt the stereo mini plug from the speakers to two RCA plugs to go into the VCR).
For some more money, you could get the AVT-3400 (the “SXGA Theatre”). In addition to scaling the video, it also has audio connections, a loop-through for the computer video, and a built-in TV tuner, plus it has a remote control (to switch inputs and change TV channels). I used a similar model (it was called the “XGA Theatre” — no longer made).
If you think $100 and $160 respectively is a lot for these devices, you should see what professional devices like this go for (several times this)!
