Nintendo Wii Won’t Start
Has anyone else been having similar problems with their Nintendo Wii?
We have had out Wii since mid-February and all of a sudden it just started giving us trouble. I was playing it 2 days ago, but then yesterday I walked over and tried to turn it on and the power button won’t work? Also, when I touch ANY button on the Wii-mote, the four square lights on the botton just blink like 4 or 5 times real quick and then it shuts off. I thought it might have been the batteries so I replaced them with new ones, but it keeps doing the same one. As for the Wii itself, I tried different outlets, unplugging the cords and plugging them back in….What else can I do? Has anyone else had these same problems? Any ideas what might be wrong with it? Are you trying to turn it on from the remote or on the front of the console?
I can see that you might have problems with keeping your remotes synched if you’re talking about using the power button on them. That’s likely why the lights will blink and then shut off if your batteries are fine — they can’t find a console that they’re set to, so they power down again. I have heard of the console randomly dropping one or all the remotes. . . but you generally just have to go in and do the red-button synch again to fix that.
Beyond that, I’m lost. I’ve had one for over a year and it’s never done anything like that. If you can’t even turn it on with the button on the console and you’re sure it’s not an outlet/cord problem. . . then I’d get in touch with Nintendo. If we’re talking about one you bought new, that should still be under warranty.
