How To Establish A Wifi Connection For Nintendo Wii
The Nintendo wii is a very entertaining gaming system, but without a wifi connection you wouldn’t have anywhere near as much gaming potential as you would have with a wifi connection. Connecting to the internet is a very simple process if you know what you’re doing, but it can be a bit confusing if you’re new to the whole wifi concept.
To begin first you will need to get everything ready, by making sure your wii and router are on and working properly. If there’s a problem with that, you will need more help than this guide will give.USB WIRELESS LAN Adapter(WIRELESS USB LAN Adapter)
At the main menu (the one you start on) click on the wii options button in the bottom left corner of the screen. It looks like a circle with the word “wii” in it.
That will take you to a screen with two options; data management, and wii settings. Click “wii settings”, the one on the right with the picture of a wrench.
You will now be taken to the “wii system settings” screen. There should be an arrow on the right edge of the screen, click it (or press the + button.) that will take you to the “wii systems settings “screen. From here you can click on the “internet” tab (the third option down.)
Click the first tab (connection settings.) from here you have three options; “connection 1″, “connection 2″, or “connection 3.” It doesn’t matter which one you pick as long as it’s not being used (has the word none in the box to the right.)
From here you can pick whether you want a wireless connection or a wired connection, were using the wireless connection (the top tab.)FM Transmitter(iPhone FM Transmitters )
There are a few things you can do here, but the easiest is searching for an access point, so click the appropriate tab (the top one.) it will search for a minute, and then tell you to “choose the access point you want to connect to.” Just click “ok” (bottom right.)
It should show you the names of all access points in range, as well as the signal strength and whether or not it has security on it. This is very helpful if you’re trying to improve your connection or fix an existing problem. Pick the one you wish to use just note that if it is secure you will have to enter a password or WEP key.
If you entered the correct information, it will ask if you want to save those settings. Click “ok” (bottom right.) then it will tell you that the “connection settings have been saved.”
Click “ok” to begin a connection test. Once it is complete (provided it’s successful, which it should be), it will ask if you want to update your system. It’s not mandatory, but it is highly recommended.PCI Wireless LAN Card(Wireless PCI LAN Cards)
If you click “yes”, a message will pop up talking about “unauthorized modifications” (such as homebrew.) this doesn’t concern you unless you get anything off the internet and put it on the wii. Just click the “I accept button”, and if any problems occur, hold the power button for 4 seconds.
If there are no updates available, a message will appear saying so and you’ll be sent to the wii menu. That’s all there is to it! Now you can start searching the web, chatting with friends, downloading games, or playing online! Have fun.
