What is the difference between a nintedno wifi usb connector and wireless usb lan adapter ?

I have wired internet via ethernet cable. I want to get wireless so I can play on a wii but I want to know if it is a nintendo wifi usb connector or wireless usb lan adapter i need .. or are they just the same thing

The usb wifi connecter goes into your computer and the Wii links off that to make your wired connection wireless.

The wifi lan adapter plugs into the back slot of the Wii and makes it able to have an ethernet cable plug into it, making it a wired connection.

I have the usb connecter & I prefer that. Unfortunately, Nintendo discontinued it . You can find them through amazon for $50, I think I payed $25 for mine when it was still out.

If you don’t wanna run an ethernet cable to it, your next best option would be to purchase a wireless router. You don’t need a super strong one b/c the Wii doesn’t need it. So you could get one at Wal-Mart or Target for $35.
