Wii Hdmi Connection Cables

anyone with HDMI connection experience plz help?
I am trying to connect my SONY BRAVIA 52 inch HDTV, SONY HT-CT100 HOME THEATRE SYSTEM, HD/DVR CABLE BOX from cablevision, XBOX 360, and NINTENDO Wii system using HDMI cords with the exception on the WIii. I got everything to work using my HOME THEATRE SYSTEM as a receiver except the cable box. The cable box will only work with the component cables and it doesn’t make sense being that everything is new and compatible. PLEASE HELP…. it will be highly appreciated. thanks in advance.
Do you have any other wires hooked to the cable box besides the HDMI cable?
HDMI is all about copy-protection. With some devices hooking up both HDMI and any other cable will trigger some copy protection.
Also – Most devices do work going through a receiver as a switcher. But the copy protection on some devices do not work well with a switch or a receiver.
Try this: Hook the cable box straight to a second HDMI input on the TV. Make sure you do not have the component cables hooked up. Does it work? If not – the cable box is defective and you should exchange it.
Then try hooking the cable box up through the receiver. Make sure you do NOT have the component cables hooked up as well.
If it still fails to work through the receiver but going straight to the TV does work – you might just leave it connected that way. Run optical out from the cable box or TV if you want to watch more serious shows/movies with the 5.1 sound.
