My wii broke after 4.2 update?

Yesterday i bought wii sports resort and it wanted me to update so i did. Then it broke . A while before i hacked it to get the homebrew channel then downgraded. After that i uninstalled everything to do with hacking before updating. Nintendo says they will fix it for free if it hasn’t been modified. Will they fix mine?

Well, you’ve kind of modified your Wii with Homebrew, and I’m pretty sure Homebrew leaves traces of its existence even after the removal.

So, unless you get really lucky, no. I think the best option would be to call Nintendo at 1-800-255-3700, tell them what you did and beg them to take it.

Any kind of modification, whether it is still present or no, voids the warranty. So, again, unless you’re really lucky and they don’t find out about the Homebrew, expect it to cost at least to cost $75 for the circuit board replacement. Oh, and don’t expect to have all your save data back when you get the Wii back…
