wii plus internet
If I get the internet channel for the Wii, will it be able to play BBC iPlayer tv shows? (I live in the U.S.)?

I’m considering if I should buy the internet channel for the Wii. I am not able to watch the iPlayer through my PC, as I live in the U. S. I was wondering if I would be barred access on my Wii as well. Any other pluses/cons to the Wii channel would also be appreciated.

I doubt it. I have the internet channel and out of all the video sites that I’ve gone to on the Wii the only one that worked was Youtube.com.

Other than not being able to watch video:
You can’t choose to turn Picutres off, making long loading times for some pages inevitable.

Similar to cell phones, you will run out of memory if you try to look at certain pages, It’s never happened to me on the PS3, and I don’t know if that happens on the Xbox.

Tabbed Brosing would have been nice

The browser has just the basic features but no really advanced options.

There seems to be few of minor glitches.

You can’t download the plugins you need to do what you want.

Typing gets pretty annoying

Though some good things are:
You can zoom in and out.

The search is pretty good. Just click the search button and it automactically searches on Which search engine you chose. (but i think you can only choose yahoo or google, not sure)

The start up page is pretty easy to use.

Sometimes you might be able to play some flash 8 movies.

Some websites have games that use Wii controls.

Overall its pretty nice (even though I came up with more bad things to say about than good, a lot of it was just nickpicking and really was nothing I was expecting to be able to do on the internet channel).

I like to use it when I can’t use the computer or to lazy to walk all the way to the frontroom, or need to look something up real fast. I bought just for the conviency it give me.
