Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector help?

I bought a Nintendo wifi connector about a few months ago for my Wii. It stopped working and they said they had to buy a new one. I went to GameStop and they said they stopped selling them. I went to Walmart, Target, Gamestop other Play'ny Trade and got the same response. I even went in Nintendo line and said they had also failed to sell, saying "There has been suspended until further notice." Does anyone know why they stopped sell them? Is there another way to connect my wii to the interent? If so please tell me what I need and step by step how to configure it. Please respond ASAP. I I have no internet in my house. All I have is a laptop with a Verizon Internet card. And my parents and I do not know what a modem.
